Founded in 1958, the members of the Serra Club of DuPage County encourage and affirm vocations to the priesthood and religious life through prayer and active fellowship. Though a member of the international vocation apostolate, Serra International, our club devotes most of its energies to fostering and promoting vocations in the Diocese of Joliet.

Serra International apostolate
Serra International
The Vatican recognizes Serra International as the only global lay apostolate for vocations in the Catholic Church.
In 1941, Pope Pius XII created the Pontificium Opus Vocationum Sacerdotalium to encourage and coordinate efforts to promote vocations to the sacred priesthood of the Catholic Church. Serra International was aggregated to this work in 1951. Aggregation reflects not only specific support from the Vatican for our mission, but also confers special spiritual benefits on all Serrans.
